Turn the page… it’s summer!

Turn the Page… It’s Summer!

The People’s Library of Kalamata and the city’s bookstores are delighted to present a new summer initiative and invite you to become part of it.

Every summer, both children and adults, whether we are on holiday, exploring new places, or even choosing to stay in Kalamata – with so many beautiful beaches, why not? – we always have one or more books as our companions. Crime fiction, science fiction, fairy tales, historical novels, romance, literary fiction… Whatever our favourite genre may be, summer always goes hand in hand with books!

And this is no coincidence! Reading is one of the most beautiful and creative ways to spend our free time. It helps us relax, reduces everyday stress, improves concentration, nurtures imagination, and takes us on journeys to new worlds, even when we do not leave our city. A good book can become the perfect summer companion, whether at the beach, on the balcony, in the mountains, or under the shade of a tree.

With this in mind, the People’s Library of Kalamata is joining forces with the city’s bookstores and, throughout the months of July and August, is offering members of its Lending Library the opportunity to enjoy a special discount on their book purchases by presenting their membership card at participating bookstores.

The aim of this initiative is to provide readers with an additional incentive to discover new stories, fill their summer with beautiful pages, and at the same time support the bookstores of our city, which are an integral part of Kalamata’s cultural and intellectual life.

Because every book that is opened is a new journey. And every purchase from a local bookstore is a small but meaningful contribution to the cultural life of our city.

So, turn the page… it’s summer! Choose your next book, support the bookstores of Kalamata, and give this summer even more beautiful stories to remember!

The participating bookstores are (in alphabetical order):

• Vivliopolis, Dimitra Dimopoulou
• Bookstore, Kontargyri
• Dimitriadis Bookstore
• Lymperopoulos Bookstore
• Makris Bookstore
• Mountzoura
• Children’s Bazaar Bookstore – Konstantinos Lygouris
• Peri Grafis Bookstore – Maria Ch. Safioleas
• Ramon
• Tserpes Bookstore

The People’s Library of Kalamata, with almost a century of continuous presence in the city’s intellectual and cultural life, continues to develop initiatives that bring books closer to children and adults alike, strengthening the local community’s connection with reading and literature.

Have a wonderful summer!!!!
